comment How does the Tamron AF 28-75mm f2.8 compare to Canon EF-S 15-85mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM?
Thanks!! I usually try to use 50mm 1.4 when inside unless I take group photos. I find the focusing speed of 50mm 1.4 extremely fast when using central focus point

yeah...it is a difficult choice. I do shoot a lot outdoors as well and the extra reach may come in handy. It is worth extra $300? I am not sure

comment How to avoid shadows under the eyes when using bounce flash?
I actually agree with you. I am trying to avoid using direct flash, however the bounce mode creates shadows under the eyes which are much worse anything I get in the direct flash. Hopefully I can find a way to use bounce mode and avoid the shadows.

comment Should I buy a Canon 55-250mm lens or 70-300mm for my Rebel T3i?
I was facing exactly the same choice last week. I do not see myself using 70-300mm often so I did not want to pay a lot for something I would only use infrequently. I ended up getting Tamron SP 70-300mm f/4-5.6 Di VC USD - only $330 with the rebate until June. I got it few days ago - pictures seem fine to me.

comment Is it worth to upgrade from Canon 50mm f/1.8 to Canon 50mm f/1.4 on 550d?
what about auto focus? I can't imagine using manual focus unless I have plenty of time. MF just won't work with my kids.

comment How do I guide my model in a portrait session?
I was recently on a cruise and talked to some photographers who work there. Apparently, they take a 3-months course where they study almost nothing but poses. techniques for photographing different people (i.e. making people look good )

comment How should I set up my studio to take sharp portraits without shadows with two white umbrellas and one silver umbrella?
Thanks! Great photo. Technically, I already have two flashes: one is the build-in flash and the other one is 430ex which can function as the slave. thanks again

comment How should I set up my studio to take sharp portraits without shadows with two white umbrellas and one silver umbrella?
thanks! I am not sure I would want to get an extra flash at this point although it is certainly worth considering... Additionally, I am noticing a very slight shadow on the picture. Is there any way to avoid that in this specific setup?

Thanks! I can't get any setup to produce "perfect" pictures but I thought it was simply due to my lack of skills.

thank you! I did notice that most setups involve using two flashes - one for each white umbrellas. I only have 1 430 ex flash. This is why I am asking this question - I can't figure out how to use two white umbrellas and one silver umbrella with only one flash togethe . maybe they are not supposed to be used together.
