comment Do lenses lose sharpness when they age?
@akid the church window thickness is a myth: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glass#Behavior_of_antique_glass the glass was installed thick-side down in the first place.

comment What are the advantages of leaving an ND filter on a lens at all times?
My mistake, too many negatives to process in a hurry.

Sorry, to clarify: he wasn't shooting video with the DSLR - he was using a proper video camera and had the DSLR for stills.

comment How useful is in-lens image stabilisation at long zoom lengths on micro 4/3?
I don't know if I will get better quality glass eventually. I don't take many photographs (I'm mainly a holidays and social occasions kind of photographer) so I tend to take photos to capture the moment, rather than to be artistic. I just couldn't justify the price difference for better lenses really.

comment Which portrait lens should I buy next for my Nikon D3100?
If you use Lightroom, then get the excellent Data Plot plugin by Jeffrey Friedl regex.info/blog/lightroom-goodies/data-plot which will plot the frequency of focal lengths in your photos, helping you chose the most common.
