comment Remove brightness from concave plate
I think the issue is reflection from the light at the window. Please try the same shot with the window blocked or at night and then compare.

comment Issues in long exposure photography
Most lenses won't reliably focus to perfect infinity when set to infinity.

comment Is the Nikon 80-200 f/2.8D ED outdated?
I am happy with mine: flickr.com/photos/chili5558/8757083179/in/photostream/lightbox Having said that, it is a bit heavy and, if I were buying today, I'd also consider the 70-200mm f/4.

comment Lenses round ..Photographs square shaped why?
@OlinLathrop Because it is much easier to make a square or rectangular canvas stretcher than round. craftsy.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/step03.jpg

That's not how I read his statement: "Specifically I would prefer to set the default quality to RAW instead of normal large JPEG."

comment How do I read the shutter speed from my light meter?
I believe the arrows above and below f/16 and ISO 200 indicate that you may change the value to whatever you wish; f/5.6 for example. As you will therefore be admitting much more light, expect the shutter speed to be shorter, 1/30th, perhaps.

comment How can I keep my camera warm while photographing time lapses over a few hours of 25F / - 4C temperatures?
I use chemical heater packs, as well. In my case, toe warmers; easily available and inexpensive. benmeadows.com/images/xl/…

comment Choosing between a normal lens and a zoom 35-70mm lens
Both are film cameras from 8-10 years ago. They are the functional equivalent of a full-frame DSLR in terms of image size. In either case, I believe the 50mm f/1.8D will produce a superior result. Please see: photozone.de/nikon_ff/623-nikkorafd5018ff?start=2 "The Nikkor is indeed a typical fast normal prime: small and light-weight, affordable and, yes, bitingly sharp..."

My assumption is that the relevant software performs the steps in the correct order.

comment Camera lens or megapixel value: which defines the quality and clarity of the picture?
Much will also depend on the accuracy of the focus mechanism and the photographer's ability to hold the camera perfectly still when lighting is challenging to avoid camera shake.

Will your D7000 set 35 second shutter time? Did you use 30 seconds instead?

comment Canon 24-70mm 2.8f - Optimal aperture for sharper pictures
@MichaelClark - I have never been aware of a camera lens (i.e., not a photocopier lens or a microscope lens) that was sharpest at f/2.8. I would love to learn more about it. Can you provide any further reading or links?
