comment Fixed HQ lens with image crop or medium quality zoom lens?
I could do some foot work, but sometimes I like compressed field images like you might get with a long lens. Good feedback. Thanks

Post raw implies I would only "push" the red (RGB) channel. What is the difference in post Rgb push than camera sensor Rgb push, as opposed to red filter 3 channel (assuming I don't bloom)?

comment Is it common to have problems with soft images on a 7D?
I've been evaluating from 5.6 to around f16, and I think the sweet spot should be about f8. The viewer does not modify the images, that is, my work flow has not changed, only the body.

I find the images soft (based on my 20D) with both auto and manual focus. I've been shooting for over 20 years and that includes 12 years in large format (i.e. I know what I'm doing).
