Are images taken with newer DSLRs sharper than those taken with old ones? Related to @dpollitt's point 2: how are you focusing - auto or manual? It's possible that your Tamron is significantly front/back focusing on your 30D. Do you have any test shots you can post? |

Is “Ultrapixels” just marketing or is there a real benefit? @Beltrame The 4 MP sensor will (hopefully) be cheaper, have lower power consumption and quicker read-out times than the 8 MP sensor. All of those are real benefits to consumers. |

Why don't most cameras store filenames based on date and time? I think the second paragraph here is the important one: the standard specifies <3 letters>_<4 numbers>, and date and time don't fit into that. |

How can lenses with different focal lengths have the same angle of view? Because the maths works; 15 * 1.6 (crop factor for Canon APS-C) = 24 :-) Alternatively, because an EF-S lens can be used only on an APS-C camera. |
