comment How can I get proper flash exposure in AV mode without using ETTL?
This doesn't really seem to answer the question as to why things work for the OP in automatic mode, but not aperture priority.

comment Facebook C2 on browsers versus other applications
@Xennex81: with a question this long, people are only going to read part of it anyway.

comment Is there a 3rd party X-mount lens (price & function) similar to Fujinon's portrait lens?
Given that the original poster's highest priority was "quick AF", I don't think an adapted lens really fits the bill here.

comment How do I take good portraits with a bridge camera and superzoom?
Without wanting to seem overly harsh: the portraits didn't turn out great because of what's behind the lens, not the lens. More generally, the typical portrait style with shallow depth of field (blurred background) needs a bit more work with a small sensor camera like your camera than a large sensor camera like a DSLR.

comment What is “angle of view” in photography?
This is getting overly pedantic, but you're missing the point I'm trying to make. The definition of angle of view has nothing to do with degrees - it's equally valid in radians, gradians or any other unit of angle you want to use. When you do a specific measurement, of course you have to state what units you're using - but that's part of a specific measurement, not part of the definition of the concept.

I wouldn't describe that as "in layman's terms". Also with my physicist hat on, the units of measurement are irrelevant.

This question is far too broad to have a useful answer; voting to close.

comment How can I focus on the moon
Could you post a couple of examples of photos you've got, along with their shooting parameters? That really helps when trying to diagnose this sort of issue.

Could you clarify the question to confirm whether you're interested in OS X applications, iOS applications or both? Thanks :-)

OK, definitely not a duplicate in that case :-)

I'm not convinced this is absolutely a duplicate - in general, you shouldn't be able to set your shutter to faster than the sync speed (unless you have HSS enabled). If you're able to set the shutter speed to faster than 1/180s, I think something else is going to a bit wrong.
