I got introduced into the world of programming through my education in Bioinformatics. During this education I learned a lot about data analysis using Perl, XML and SQL.

After his education I took a job as Java developer. This gave me the opportunity to, besides learn Java, develop my OO-skills.

At this moment I am in the process of becoming a C# developer.

With every other lens I totally agree with you. But with the 50mm f/1.8 I see it differently. That's what makes this lens so unique. But everyone is ofcourse looking at it differently. I'm just giving my opinion here ;)

Even then. In my opinion this lens is truly one of a kind. At a price of <$100 it's affordable for everyone, so it's not a big investment that MUST perform. With that in mind you can just buy it without knowing what to use it for, or just buy it because someone told you it's a must have. This is in my opinion the only lens you can just buy and just start using to see what it can do for you.

How can I close this topic? I don't see a 'close' tag the FAQ is talking about...

Not a possible duplicate, it IS a duplicate. I thought I've checked if a similar topic already existed, apparently not thorough enough. Thank you!
