I'm Edd. I'm a Computer Science graduate from the University of Bath, currently working as a software developer at Ocado, in Hatfield, UK. I've experience working in a number of industries, including military and civil engineering, and working on very different types of project.
I reguarly code in C, C++ and Objective-C, and have experience using Python, Java, PHP and Ada as well as the basics such as Bash-scripting. I'm keen to learn C# and the .Net framework in the near future. I'm happy to work with html and XML, and I typeset the vast majority of my university work using LaTeX.
Outside of work, I'm a keen photographer. I'm a Canon user, shooting with a 5D. I'm interested in landscapes and cityscapes, as well as bits of sports photography. I'm wanting to learn more about how I can use flash to enhance my photos.

What is the meaning of W and T on a camera's zoom buttons? @ClaraOnager Actually, it's ok to do that "if you’d like to document it in public so others (including yourself) can find it later". |

How to reduce file size without losing quality or resolution? @Bran In which case I suggest reducing the resolution, as suggested by woliveirajr. I can see little reason to have an image resolution greater than that of the phone's screen. |

How to reduce file size without losing quality or resolution? Will the copies of the images on the phone only be viewed on the phone's screen, or will you want to print/share them from the phone to some other display? |

What are the ideal settings to shoot Star Trails with a Nikon D90? @pinaldesai Surely you need the long exposure to give the star a chance to move in the frame? |

Is it ok to breathe the front glass element of a lens to fog it and clean it? I don't think this answers the question. Whilst you've suggested an alternative way to clean lenses, the question is just to do with cleaning lenses by breathing on them, so I presume this is why this answer has been downvoted. |

What settings should i put my Nikon D3100 on to photograph the moon? Welcome to photo.stackexchange! You seem to be asking a number of different things here, so it would probably be best if you split this up into a number of different questions. |

What is the most effective way to get soft light from hotshoe flash indoors? Also, do you have to use it in a hotshoe? I quite often use a 430EX II attached to a short coiled cable for use when I need to work quickly. |

Buy Fujifil XE-1 (or Fuji Xpro) or Full Frame? for professional portrait shsooting? Welcome to Photo.Stackexchange! As it stands, this question might not attract the best answers, and is likely to get lots of opinions on individual cameras rather than an overriding answer. If you edit your question so that it has one key statement that could be answered it may get a better response. |

In Canon EOS 1100D how do you manually set shutter speed and ISO in M mode? I think the user was more asking for instructions as to which buttons/dials to use to adjust the value, rather than deciding which value to pick. |

Does my Canon 24-105mm have an issue with IS? I think you'll be able to edit your post and add the images once you reach 10 rep (2 question upvotes or one answer upvote). Maybe there's another question on this site you could provide an insightful answer to? |

Why does my Canon 1000D focus only on the bottom part of an image? It's interesting that manual focus produces the same result; do you have a sample image or a secondary lens that you could try using? |

Why does my Canon 1000D focus only on the bottom part of an image? Could you edit your question to describe the full process you go through in order to reproduce this problem (Turn camera on, put into Av mode, select central AF point,...) and possibly an example image to help the diagnosis please. |

How do I get a stuck screw filter off of my lens? I'd be a bit concerned about putting my lenses in the freezer with regards to condensation. If I were to resort to this type of method, I'd bag the lens in the freezer before removing it, and let it warm up gradually, as mentioned here. |
