a genre of photography which covers photography of animals in their natural habitat

Wildlife photography often involves long telephoto lenses and teleconverters, and with them, ways of steadying the camera (monopods, tripods, image stabilisation). It also involves techniques of getting close to the subject using camoflage, blinds, or by knowing their habits and feeding places, and anticipating movements.
