There are either too many possible answers, or good answers would be too long for this format. Please add details to narrow the answer set or to isolate an issue that can be answered in a few paragraphs. If this question can be reworded to fit the rules in the help center, please edit the question.

As is this question is extremely broad and I'm afraid without modifications will be closed as such. Can you describe an example of exactly what you are looking for? Promotions and marketing can range from things as simple as a portfolio website to as elaborate as Facebook contests, Google advertisements, direct mail, trade shows, and third party vendor directories. Of course some of these have websites associated to them and some have apps, but simply asking for a list of any and all of these would easily fill a book and not be that useful in and of itself. –  dpollitt Oct 21 '13 at 14:26

This previous question is a very good start, and if you read it you will notice it essentially recommends reading books on the topic and coming up with your own strategy that works for you: How do I start promoting a children's portrait business? –  dpollitt Oct 21 '13 at 14:27

Inderpal: this question was put on hold as being too broad; if you're going to edit it, you need to refine it to a more specific problem. –  Philip Kendall Oct 24 '13 at 12:29

@InderpalSingh Questions asking for a list of resources, or where any answer is equally good, aren't helpful -- they tend to be subjective and the answers quickly become outdated. Furthermore, this question shows a lack of research -- you don't need to look very far to find a detailed list of photo sharing sites. –  Caleb Oct 24 '13 at 13:48

A lot of people like Squarespace and SmugMug to host their galleries/portfolios (and they have some capabilities for sales). DeviantArt, 500px, and 1x are places for sharing images and having them rated/reviewed by others and can help get some exposure (as well as sales). Snapsation may be something you're looking for, though I don't know how much it gets used.

However, your best marketing is going to be from word of mouth (even if it's your own mouth). I've yet to have someone see my website and call/email me for a job; all of my work has come from seeing people at events and handing out my card or word of mouth referrals.
