My Calumet light stands are starting to stick and become difficult to open.
I've cleaned them with WD40, but it didn't help much.
What else can I use to clean and/or lubricate my stands?

I'd use a general purpose lubricating oil, such as 3 in 1 (though I don't know if it's available where you are or if it's just a UK brand). WD40 is probably to light an oil for long term lubrication. |

Around plastic parts, avoid any kind of oil-based lubricant. Oil eats plastic and rubber. Silicone lubricant, or graphite lubricant, is a safe bet. Of course, any household grade oil will work for metal parts, but apply it sparingly. |
