I'm considering the Nikon D3100, Nikon Coolpix P510 and Canon PowerShot SX50 HS. Can anyone help me choose between these three?

Fun fact: Nikon DSLRs are rather poor in getting natural colors. You need to shoot RAW and apply custom color profiles to get nice looking color pallet. Canon and Sony can offer much better results right from the box. That's basically the price you pay for having lower noise levels. – MarcinWolny Feb 10 at 18:47

"Fun fact" is not a fact. – mattdm Feb 10 at 19:16

"Which of three cameras I pulled at random out of a sack is better at natural color" is hard to really answer in a helpful way. – mattdm Feb 10 at 19:26

I agree the selection of cameras is too limited and random, it doesn't make sense at all. There are tons of alternatives, especially considering the mirrorless camp you totally jumped and which can offer a good in-between from P&S and DSLR. – Marco Mp Feb 10 at 19:58

Canon PowerShot SX50 is a pretty decent camera with a lot of zoom. Nikon D3100 is a DSLR camera - bigger sensor compared with other two, interchangeable lenses.

It depends on your budget - if you can afford, D3100 will give you better image quality and more control, but you might need to spend some additional money on the lenses.
