Photography Stack Exchange is a question and answer site for professional, enthusiast and amateur photographers. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I have an image of a bicycle and knowing the size in millimeters of the chainring I would like to measure the lengths of the various tubes of the frame and draw the various dimension lines (basically a dimension line is a straight line with an arrow on both the endpoints). The image is a side view and so I think I can get a decent measures.

The plugin should have two basic features:

  1. I draw a line on the image and tell to GIMP its real size in mm, so it can compute the mm/pixel conversion factor.
  2. I draw a line with the mouse and GIMP draw the dimension line and the dimension.

In GIMP I know the "Measure tool" but it gives me the measure in pixel while I need them in millimeters... of course I can manually do all the drawing but I was looking for a plugin.
