Does anyone have experience with either (or both) of these? I purchased two Dell U2412M IPS LED backlit LCD monitors for editing photos and doing webdesign work and I want to make sure they are calibrated correctly. The Spyder4Pro and x-rite i1Display Pro seem to be the two most popular in their price range. Which is better?

I use the X-rite i1Display Pro and it's been awesome. Really easy to use, and all my monitors look the same now. I can't offer any more information than that, unless you have a specific question about the X-rite – camflan Sep 2 '12 at 1:36
What settings do you use when calibrating? Do you use the advanced mode or the basic mode in the x-rite software? – Nate Sep 2 '12 at 2:45
Both are very good, I'm not sure that one is necessarily better than the other. I personally use the Sypder system, and it does an excellent job. You really can't go wrong with either brand, though. I would read a few reviews of each, and make your decision based on the conclusions of each review. One thing I think DataColor does better with Spyder is synchronizing calibration across multiple displays of different technology, which is why I bought my Spyder...to sync my laptop, desktop, and TV systems to produce as similar color as possible. – jrista Sep 2 '12 at 17:40
