Possible Duplicate:
What megapixel value is equivalent to which ISO film?
Is it true that '80s 35mm photofilm had quality corresponding to 24 megapixels?

Is there a ratio or equivalent of X amount of megapixels = 35mm Film ?

I would assume that this can vary due to Sensor Size of the Digital Camera but I am curious if there is any relation.

Working backwards, 24 Mpix is 167 pixels/mm, or roughly 83 lines/mm in film terms. –  Olin Lathrop Jan 5 '12 at 20:28
