this is very beginner's question, i am asking this before buying my first DSLR. I just like to know what is the video size for Nikon D5100 in both 720px, 1080px videos.
i heard that it's 4GB for 10min. is that true?
and how to convert them in small size?

i mean compress the video in small size, with may be some third party tool. like 4Gb video to 500Mb. – subeer haldar May 5 '11 at 10:36

Questions about video mode as a feature of dSLR cameras are a gray area, but this question is really mostly about video. You can get some ideas of the quality settings the files use from page 109 of the manual (support.nikonusa.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/17325/~/…), which should help you some, although the answer will vary according to the contents of the video, because some things compress better than others. – mattdm May 5 '11 at 11:50
